I was born in Ghent and since the age of 17 WakaWaka was my dream. Since then I had been looking for the best way to serve people and make the best drinks.

I put the attention on the presentation, the design and the efficiency.

Emphasising that we can also create culinary dishes within the African food culture. Not just the more common dishes such as fufu, meat, sauce and that being it.

The majority do not know the kind of ingredients we use in African cuisine and what type of dishes you can create with them. Our food culture is vast and I want to show that in my cooking.

For many it is a first time experience. They are surprised by the flavors, questioning why it took them so long to try it out.

I convey my emotions with food, because food is art.

WakaWaka is a family business. My mother makes the bissap juice and my father makes the ginger juice. Those are some of WakaWaka’s signature drinks.
